Scratches on trolling motor sonar transducer

Post by Bill kizer »

Will scratches on a sonar transducer affect the operation of a depth finder. I have a Lowrance X-67 color unit that shows the depth fine but doesn’t show color definitions unless I’m in shallow water, six feet or less or so.

I have another transducer I can swap out if need be.

No they dont, mine is all scratched up and it works fine.Check your settings on the unit sounds like they may have been accidently changed.

Bill. I have had a couple of transducers that were pretty scratched up and they always worked just fine. Your color unit probably has some other problem, adjustments somewhere or something with the unit itself. I would call the company and see what they can offer for solving. I think I fixed my problem. I did the old electronics term, reseated computer. I think it actually worked this time. The electronic principle of FM, worked again.
