Re: Teener Alert 13.20 DQ'd
That is rather strange. I go to Texas and fish every year and purchase a yearly license. Their yearly license dates are from August to August, for both resident and non resident anglers. If you purchased a short term license you would think that you would know what day your expired.

Re: Sea lions feast on fish on the American River VIDEO
This same thing happens on the Columbia and Willamete Rivers in Oregon. They are eating federal protected salmon and steelhead that are on the endangered species list. US fish and wildlife have a program where they are eliminated after individual ones are trapped tagged relocated and then returning ...

Re: OK old- time bay area bass fishermen who remembers this one
As a teenager I lived only a few miles from the Sportsfishing center and thats were I got hooked on bass fishing about 45 years ago. I remember them having open house shows with vendors in the back room a couple of times with the Brawly brothers and meet Dee Thomas there that had to be 1975 or 1976....

Regardless of which side of the political fence you are on how can this new lake be a good idea when they will be taking water from other sources to fill it.
There doesnt seem to be a lot of extra water to go around now and the future doesnt look much different.

Re: Fishing license cost rises
California's may be higher for the basic license but Oregon charges $28.50 for a second rod and $46.00 for a Steelhead / Salmon tag. Oregon's reason for raising the fees every year is because less people are buying licenses and have to raise the cost to cover operating costs. I used to buy the steel...

Re: Mike Long admits deceit behind bass record?
What people do when money is involved can never be predicted. I have read the article and watched the video, the whole thing is a sad representation of our society and what people will do to others to make themselves look like something special. Is there not enough info in the printed article and th...

Re: 2018 New boating safety card
Oregon started a program like this about 15 years ago. When first started it was a open book type test that you did on paper and mailed in and was free of charge, this was before everything had to be done on the internet. Now takes about an hour to take test on computer, took a friend three times be...

Re: Jig head epoxy
If you are just looking to get color on bare lead you can soak jig heads in liquid plumber/drano, hang jig heads in a short glass jar and fill until lead is covered, let sit 24 hours then rinse off with hot water and jig heads will turn a dull brown color. This is a chemical reaction and will not ch...

Re: Squaw fish; Do bass eat them? anyone know the facts on that fish
On The Columbia river ,on the Oregon/ Washington boarder, there is a bounty paid on dead squaw fish/pike minnows as part of a program to protect endangered salmon fry as they migrate thru the series of dams used to create power on the river. This program is funded by the Bonneville Power Co. They ar...

Ruined a 360 box of Luckycraft rip baits ,that one hurt the pocket book. Doesn't really have to be that hot just leaving boxes in the sun on the deck can also do that.

Re: Cal Delta Sealions
This same problem with sea lions is happening on the Columbia River at the Bonneville Dam. There is lots of media coverage about this because of the fact they are eating endangered salmon. At one time these animals were considered threatened or endangered ,which is why they cannot be harmed in any w...

Re: Trinity lake reports
Even with the road problem between Weverville and Trinity Center you should still be able to access launching by going to Lewiston and launching by the dam near Trinity alps Marina. Of course this is then about a 20 mile run up to the area around Trinity Center, but is well worth the trip.

When you say Florida made baits are you talking about the ones with the lead button at the line tie. I have some that way and some that have a molded lip without lead on it.

I have not fished a California tournament in a long time but I am sure they must still have the 6 hour rule for summer tournaments so this type of thing is not suppose to happen. I was surprised when I looked at the results after day 2 to see 1 angler had 5 out 10 fish dead. We used to hold club tou...

I have about 30 Lucky Craft rip bait in 5 different models. Changing the hooks has never been a problem on the 100 pointer as long as they have been close to the same size as what was on there. You should be able to feel the ball move if you hold bait upside down in your hand and rock back and forth...

Reaction Innovation used to make the weedless wacky hook ,based on the gamy shiner hook. The Wicked wacky hook copied those after they stopped making them. Amen to Benadryl, don't leave home without it. Used bug repellant with deet that a friend gave me, 15 minutes later arms and legs welted up and started to swell, 6 Benadryl later every thing was OK. NO more deet. Making sure you have all these extra items can save your day.

I remember the Sportsfishing center,it started my Bass fishing addiction. Bought my first Basstracker from Gordon and learned to make jigs from Frank, this was in the late 1970's. Lived only a short distance from the store. Here we are all these years later and my addiction is worse now. After readi...

I have an HDS 7 with a rattle from something that has come loose inside. Is it possible to undo screws on case and split case to remove item without messing something up.
