I am so needy these days, another recommendation please

I need to install a new "through hull" transducer in the bilge. The hard work is done, old unit removed and new unit /cable pulled through and in place. Next I need to "glue" the puck into position. Several questions come up at this stage.... 1) can I re-use the spot where the ol...

Delta rat headed to lake Oroville, what about water levels

I have a team TOC to fish in 4 weeks (end of September) and I would assume the water level is going to drop between now and then. Since lakes are not really my thing I want to know the following: 1) How much will the lake drop in 4 weeks ...2) what typically happens to the fish as the water drops (w...

Dewayne...thanks for the heads up!

I had two girls out for a boat ride and some fishing on Saturday and anticipated them because of your post. I dropped anchor at Quimby and Holland to fish (actually help the girls fish) and had a birds eye view of them roaring by. If you know the spot (point) I was on would you believe some of them ...

Reels ..consider brands other than Shimano

I know Shimano reels are popular, but the reputation they enjoy is based on old models and very old customer service. Take the Chronarch for example, once considered their best (although expensive) baitcasting reel has been ruined (my opinion) by replacing it with a heavy, more expensive 100b. Rumor...

Who has sent reels to Shimano in the last 60+ days?

 I have had reels @ Shimano for service since 4/25 (day they were checked in) Shimano service person and I have exchanged words on the phone where I expressed my displeasure with the level of service, I was basicly told "tough" If I had a way to reach management I would do so in a he...

minn kota

I would go with the 42" shaft, actually it is closer to 43" I have had 3 of them and they work great. Although I have never bought a 52" shaft a buddy of mine did and it is LONG! This thing had so much cable on the front deck when in the stow position it was'nt funny.

Hey Chris...based on your comments

about the cost of high dollar water rockets and why you can't understand how other people would rather go to work and pay for such luxury items as opposed to fish all the time....well I found a boat you can afford, if it's not available you can build one for yourself :D http://westernbass.com/forum/...

P-Line and my W.O.N. Tournament!

After reading all the posts this past week about P-Line I decided to find out for myself and try some of their 100% Fluorocarbon. I have been using another fluorocarbon for about a year now and I believe fluorocarbon has made me a more effective angler, simply put, you feel more bites which equates ...

would have been to call first and ask about the turn around time, still it seems 6 weeks (and that's just their best guess!) is a looong time to wait!

A heads up for anyone sending reels to Shimano!

I have 4 Chronarchs in need of repair, all 4 need a part of one kind or another so I decided to send them directly to Shimano down in So. Cal. This was on 4/19 they confirm having received them on 4/25 even though the UPS tracking said they were there much earlier. Anyway I was getting concerned and...
