Re: Anyone use braid to flouro for big bait fishing?

No reason to use braid on swimbaits unless the reel doesn't hold enough line. You have 2 knots to fail using marginal knot strength with FC line. My recommendation is to use 25 lb Sunline Armillo Diefer Nylon, good knot strength and 1 knot.

Re: San Vicente opening

Looks like San V experienced the same problem Casitas had when they stopped stocking trout and the giant bass couldn't adjust to eating Threadfin Shad and starved. Should be a good population of 5-7 lb bass in San V now. IF the trout stocking happens and they restock crawdads, San V will rebound.

Re: Medium Swimbait reels

Using braid line capacity shouldn't be an issue with any 300 size reel. Distance isn't of spool diameter with small diameter braid line because the spooled line doesn't change a lot when 50 to 60 yards of line has been cast as it does with larger diameter monofilament lines. The only other 300 low p...

Re: Livewel oxygenation systems

My view on water over 85 degrees is it can't hold enough DO to sustain healthy bass in a livewell. This is one reason night tournaments have a big problem during hot summer nights, the DO levels are extremely low. If you rely on recirculating 85-90 degree lake surface water without adding DO into th...

S.1894 was passed, this doesn't stop those folks but it does stop frederal funding and the DFW from inplementing this bill using the current budget. This war is far from over.
If we keep United nationally and statewide we can at least slow the big agri folks down.

Group 24 would be ok for a cranking battery unless it's running state of the art sonar units. Group 29 or 31 is a better choice for trolling motors. AGM's are a good choice, not a fan of Opima since Interstate/JC bought them. Trojan is a manufacture of wet cell batteries, not sure about their AGM. V...

Long before modern man decided to build homes in fire prone areas fires occurred as part of the ecosystem. Fire retardants are not natural and very harmful to the ecosystem, if you spilled fire retardant the hazmat folks would arrive in protective suites to clean it up! It always comes down to cost ...

There isn't anything wrong with a Cardiff 300 series reel, your rod is a limitation as it rating is 1-5 oz lures. Swimbait rods should be rated above the heaviest lure you plan to use, Xheavy 10 to 12 oz rating.

The trailer is a vehicle and needs to have current license and tags, you get 6 months to register it in California.
The boat isn't a vehicle and can be licensed out of state as long as it is current.

Re: End of an Era: Uncle Josh to Discontinue Pork Products

You can re dye pork rind;
White can be dyed any color.
Any color can be dyed black.
Any color except black can be dyed brown.

You can soften park rind by lightly hammering with a meat tenderizing hammer, skin side down on a flat board...messy! Beer or Coke will also soften pork rind.
