If you have charged the two batteries in the low water condition, you have partially fried the part of the plates that are out of the water. You need to replace them. Sorry for the confusion. The camera I was talking about is the Olympus Stylus 770 SW. It is a compact point and shoot. It's 7 megapixels. It can withstand a 5 foot drop, and 220 lbs of pressure. Have you looked at or checked out the Olympus 770? It's completely waterproof and you can even take in down to 33 feet. This would allow you to get some underwater shots.

The BOGA grip is the original and the best. They will set you back over $100, though. If you want something just for your son to use, try the Econo Lipper from Bass Pro Shops. It's under $20 and does the job.
