OK, so I received a new Shimano Calais 200DC from my wife for my birthday a few weeks back (she really loves me or is trying to get me out of the house). I cant decide which rod to put it on. I've got a g•loomis DSR casting rod that I currently have a 50 mg on. I'm not sure that a 200DC wouldn't be a little too heavy. I do do a lot of drop shotting. I've also got a g•loomis 7'11" flipping stick. I've also got some 7' g•loomis BCR's but I'm thinking that the 50 mg's match up with those because of their light weight. I use them for worms and jigs mostly. I am thing about putting it on that or putting on a left handed Castaic 201 SF. ( I am right handed). I don't do much flipping down her in southern California and that might be a waste of a great reel. Swimbait rod is already matched with a 250DC. And I am already set with a couple of well matched cranking rod/reels and a well matched c-rigging rod (DVL made me a better c-rigger). Anybody got any suggestions?
Thanks.

The calais dc would be good for any technique where you are making alot of casts like blades, cranks. The cast control on those is awesome because the computer in there remembers your casts. This is very efficient running down the bank making the same distance cast, very efficient. You could really use it for anything. The 50 mg is good on your d-shot rod. It is light and the max drag pressure is lower, which is better for light line. BTW you are lucky your wife buys you stuff like that. I keep everything on the DL around my house
PS- what's up Ray, lookin forward to TSJ castaic
