Should there be a Law?
If a liver transplant patient gets caught drinking liquor after his transplant should he be forced to give the liver to someone else?

In a world where the patient paid for his care and waited fairly in line for the liver....no.
In a world of socialized medicine they will be telling him what he can eat and drink and where he can and can't go for fear of possible exposure to toxins.
Its all about the guilt.... how could you?!?

Oh, and who's going to "catch" him?
We need to get everyone reporting everyone for anything and everything.
Its Stalin chique you no.

I find it strange that this took a serious turn, LOL. However, who would catch them? Well, the news media caught John Phillips of the Mammas and the Papas several times after he drank his first liver away and signed a contract and took an oath never to drink again. Then he drank his second one away. They reused him a second transplant. Bye John. Dead at 65.

My point were that if he paid his fair share and waited in line for his turn why should anyone stop him from getting back in line for seconds? What would give them the right?
My other point is do we really want a society where people have been conditioned to inform the government about anything and everything they see others doing but don't agree with? Its a guarantee that eventually, no matter how righteous an individual you might consider yourself, you will at some time during your life, find yourself at odds with both a busybody neighbor and the current powers that be. Even if you consider yourself safely among "the elite".
All of the best intentions couldn't stop a situation like that from being ever increasingly abused.
That is the same fear every citizen of every totalitarian government has lived under throughout history. Funny how we just don't seem to learn anything.

Geez Greg, how dare you support Stalin, totalanarianism, etc.
HAHA, I agree with you in that they should yank the liver back out and give it too the right person!
You get one F#%& up!
After that, you don't get any more favors!
