Single or Double Console Boat?

Post by ironhavoc »

I keep going back and forth on this. For me fishing is better out of a single, but for my passengers which I usually fish with my son or at least someone else its better with the Double consoles.

Current boat is a double, looking to get another boat and going back and forth.

Which do you prefer and why?

Double. If something goes wrong at least the passenger has a chance at staying in the boat and not getting ejected
Some boats have removable consoles as well

I've always had a duel console boat (5) but now as I'm much (MUCH) older, I'm considering removing the passenger console now so as to give me a little more room to stumble around in !! If you're ordering a new boat you can have it a single with the extra console in a box and then swap it to be a duel. Some boats are easier to change, some are bolted and glued and makes removal a challenge !!

Unless you always fish alone, get the 2nd console, give your partner a break. I am really an old guy and use the console to help secure balance.
