Smoked by a 9 pounder on the first cast

Postby WB Staff » Thu Jun 11, 2020 6:55 pm

From Ryan Cook
I still can't believe this happened last night! I threw a topwater bait over a point to "check" the activity level of the fish and show Brayden the cadence I wanted him to work the bait. I get smoked by a 9 pounder on the first cast and apologize to Brayden the whole time I'm fighting this fish!!! I was still feeling guilty about it 2 hours later when Brayden fires his topwater bait out and hooks up with his new person best that ended up going 8 pounds!!! It's a pretty rare day when you have a kid this young on the boat that can fish this well, he is gonna go far in this sport!!! He is only seven!!!
