Most feed stores --- The Country type that cator to horses and other livestock.
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

Thanks Dan,

Can you give me a name of a store or two that you know has them? I called all the feed stores up where I live (Placerville) and they acted like I was crazy, like pigeons are pests, why would you want to buy any? Plenty of chickens and ducks however.

I know some 6 years ago the feed store on Pleasant Valley Road near Hanks Exchange Rd. past Diamond Springs sold them.

When I had my first dog I would get them from there on my way to my parents to train -- as well as a couple of pen raised quail.

They would trap the Pigeons at the barn because they were pest.

Thanks guys.

I decided to go with quail for now. The advantage I heard about with pigeons was that they would home back to their loft after being flushed but apparently they develop the homing instinct only if you get them before they learn to fly. Olive Hill Kennels near Woodland set me up with some quail.
