Stockton to charge for use of Ladds
Stockton to charge for use of Ladds
Stockton is preparing to start enforcing a $120 permit fee to hold tournaments out of Ladds and a $50 fee to use the park. There will be a meeting at city hall in Stockton on Monday August 21, 2006 on the second floor 425 N. El Dorado at 1:30 PM. Anyone wanting to voice input had better show up, this affects all circuits and clubs regardless of size.
Re: Stockton to charge for use of Ladds
I find that funny. With all the locations to hold an event on the Delta, this is going to cost them more money then help.
they dont care
the fees are all about placating the rich boaters that moor their boat at the marina...they are tired of being awakened on the weekends by bass tournaments. even though it is a public facility, the wining rich always get there way......er go......$120 permit fees and $50 park use fees.........Oh, by the way, did I mention, it must be a east delta thing.....paradise point hates bass tournament also. They once told me, we are not interested in you "small events, we dont need the money for the headaches that come with it".

Re: How about down town under the bridge.
Under the bridge is too small.. There's a guard at the toll booth ( most of the time) to collect fee. If no guard, park at your own risk due to theft.
Seems the city isn't happy with the launching fee which is extra money they wouldn't have due to tournments held there. Looking at around 30+ boats at $10 = over $300 which they should be happy with. Getting greedy ????

Re: How about down town under the bridge.
I used to launch out of that ramp (Morelli Park) quite a bit because it was free. But ever since the city made the improvements at Ladd's, they started to enforce their ramp fees across the board so launching downtown now costs a whopping $15. It's really not worth it because the dock is still in disrepair--watch out for the exposed bolts and metal on the side. The guard said it's still free to launch on weekdays but there won't be anyone at the booth to keep an eye on things.Vince Borges wrote:I hear they realy cleaned it up and put in video servalance. Some people may consider Morelli Park a bit on the sketchy side but in all the years I've launched there, I've never had a problem. And that's with quite a few night time launches for striper fishing...

Guys who launch out from Morelli park has been rip off quite abit. In the evening there's all those homeless, druggies who all hang around that area as there's aplace where they shelter and feed them afew blocks away.
Alot of drug deal goes on nearby. Consider yourself lucky if your car or truck isn't vandalize. Not the best part of town. Another bad place is call Louis park which is located about 1/2 east from Ladd's on the water. High crime area.
