This is another instance of gear being stolen in Oakdale. If I remember it wasn't to long ago we were posting about all of the gear being stolen from the Denny's parking lot. Be careful with your gear in Oakdale. I will pass this on to those I know.
Re: Stockton CSBA Member Suffers Major Theft of Fishing Equi
Around May of this year me and my fishing partner went fishing at the Oakdale recreation area on Liberini; also known as "The point" or the "dog pound area".
We launched my aluminum boat and took off up river in search of stripers.
After about 5 hours of fishing we got back and my partner went back to get my Suburban so we could trailer the boat.
He walked over to it and noticed the glass wing window was broken out so he yelled for me to come over.
The scum took about $1000 worth of stuff that consisted mainly of fishing equipment, tools, and even a TV.
If anyone has been fishing in this area you know there is only one road going in and it dead ends into the water.
We loaded the boat and on the way out we stopped and talked to a bunch of locals that fish and drink in the same spot every night.
We told them what happened and slowly we started getting information out of them.
It turned out one of the guys that stole my stuff was already at the launch area when I launched my boat. They described his vehicle and I remember it being down there when I launched. I don't remember if he was fishing but I vaguely remember him and his truck.
He was a white guy around 45 years old driving a fairly clean brown Chevy truck from the late 1970's. The truck was missing the tailgate.
The locals said they saw a white 80's Toyota corrola type hatchback car with a girl driving along with three white guys in their late teens to early 20's. Guy in the front had tattoo's and looked like a druggy type.
They said the white car drove past and shortly after drove out with the brown truck following them. The brown truck had the tv in the back and was easily visible since it was missing the tailgate.
Apparently the guy in the brown truck saw an easy hit and called his buddys.
I't was an easy hit for them since they knew we would be gone fishing. Usually there is a several cars and people fishing at the ramp area but since the fishng sucked there wasn't anybody down there so they had the place all to themself.
They are probably part of the same ring thats responsible for all of the Oakdale thefts and most likely the same trash thats been breaking into Escalon bait and tackle.
I searched craigslist, ebay and checked out the flea market in Modesto for my stuff but couldn't locate it. I had a box of about 30 Water Striker trap type baits that I won in their buy five contest awhile back and there was also about 75 packages of various Gamakatsu hooks in the box. All the other stuff was common items that would be hard for someone else to identify.
When all of this went down I was to busy to pursue the matter. I have more time on my hands now and if these losers are still at it I would like to hear about it if their still targeting vehicles with boats at restraunts or boat ramps since it would be real easy to set up a decoy vehicle and catch them in the act.
The original post sounds like the thieves broke into his house so i'm not sure if its the same people.

Wow that sucks, Its a horrible feeling.
We have a area out here were trucks at the launch ramps were getting stolen and looted while guys were out night fishing. A group of Airboater's had been broken into 3 times in 2 months, so they set up their own sting. 3 guys stayed behind and waited while the airboats took off and went out into the glade's. Thirty minutes later a Van pulled up and 4 guys got out. They started towards the trucks with tools and box's. The 3 guys came out of the weeds with drawn guns and beat the guy's within a inch of their live's. The Airboats were called back in and they loaded the guy's on the boats and took them 5 miles into the glades and put them on a mud flat. Went back destroyed the van and called in a tip to the authorities. The FWC went out and found the guys, they got arrested for all of the theft's because their finger prints were identified from past break in's.
Is that justice or what, the FWC actually turned a blind eye to the beatings. And nobody got arrested for doing what they did...
I wish I could meet those Airboater's and buy them a beer.

Sounds like a good idea. But here in the republic of caliphonia we have to be more civil so we dont get are a## sued off. We will have to rehabilitate them first. I think a little time on the water duck taped to a 4 inch pipe should do it. A little water ski adventure at 80 mph until I run out of gas might make them see the error of there ways. Even if it doesnt, it gives me a warm fuzzy. It is amazing how a little time on water can change your heart.
