Stradic Ci4

Post by The Herminator »

So, I received my new Shimano Ci4 in the mail the other day and proceed to open the box to feel it's buttery smoothness. Much to my surprise, the damn thing doesn't feel very smooth and it's much harder to turn than my regular Stradics. Are you guys finding this is the case with this reel or did I get a lemon?
Thanks!

no way that is normal. Call the store which sold it to you and ask for an exchange!

Exchange it through the dealer where it was purchased. This will be the fastest way to take care of it.

I had the same problem, exchanged it, and the new one was just as bad. I put a drop of Shimano oil in the maintenance port, turned the handle 100-200 times, and repeated 3 or 4 more times over the course of a day. BIG IMPROVEMENT! And it's only gotten smoother in the months since then.
