Tackle storage — hot garage in summer
How many of you remove all your tackle from the boat when you garage it in the summer? Not a boater yet, but my garage is unbearably hot in the summer. Does it hurt your baits to leave everything in the boat? How about the line on the reels?

Install a whirly turbine vent, and another vent or two to bring in air.
If you have to, consider a fan install. They even have solar powered ones now.
Probably the worst case scenario, would be the hard baits.
Exposed to extreme heat, thin walled baits can soften, air inside can expand, and you end up with baits that look like crunchy cheetoos.
Raise the garage door just a half inch, a lot more air can come in.

There are a lot of factors, type of plastic, thickness, solvent used to bond the two sides together etc. Add heat, and they can distort.
Cold temps are another issue.
I have not had a problem with mono and high heat, but I know it does not like the sunlight over extended periods. Like a rod hanging were it gets sunlight every day via a window.

tackle stored in boats during the summer will cook and melt stuff. storing in the house is cooler. if you havent yet, insulate your garage door with foam. the attic fans help too. mono will suffer in the high heat

Re: Tackle storage — hot garage in summer
I installed a gable fan in my attic this year and it has really done well at bringing down the garage temp, and is suppose to help reduce the HVAC bill by 20$ easy to install and cheap 79.00 for a 1650cfm pulling 4amps at Home Depot.
Andy before you go solar you may want to consider the cost is 250.00 for a 850cfm fan, that only operates in direct sunlight... at a savings of 12% of HVAC my gable fan will run until damn near 7:30-8:00 until the addict is back down to 95 degrees. although it does not cost anything to run it, the ROI is way out almost 6 years, and even then you are only realizing a savings of 12% vs 20....just food for thought for those that are thinking of this.
PS if you have installed a whole house fan and not an attic fan, where is all of that displaced heat going?
