Tacklewarehouse Shimano sale

Post by mark poulson »

Click on the banner, and check out the Shimano sale!
$170 for a Chronarch MG50!
For anyone who throws light stuff, like small jerkbaits, flukes, or likes to worm with a baitcaster, even dropshot, these reels are the ticket.
A steal!
Don't get hung up on brand names, like I won't fish this or that. These reels are light, 5.9oz I think, and durable, and you won't find one as good for light stuff for less than $300.
And....I'm not sponsored by anyone other than my own wallet, so I'm not trying to sell anyone on anything, other than a chance at what I think's a great deal in tough times.

Same here. My 50mgs are great. Flipping and anything with a plastic they rock.

They dont have as much line cap. but you should be changing line frequently anyway and why waste 100yard with a full spool?

Mine should be here today! Can't wait to try it out this weekend. I might have to get more after that!

I just checked, and the additional 10% rebate is gone, so the price is $187, plus tax. I missed it, too.
Still a great deal.

I've got one in the box and will be placing my order tomorrow for another. They don't weigh a thing.

They are great for light lures and light line.
They are not great for anything that needs a stong drag. I think 8lbs is about what they test out at, but I could be wrong.
I wouldn't use them for stuff like jigs, since they don't have a strong drag for setting the hook, and they don't hold a lot of heavier line.
But for stuff like weightless flukes, small jerkbaits, underspins, light scroungers, small cranks, spit shotting, and drop shotting, they're perfect.
For me, they make it easy to throw all that stuff on a baitcaster, which is much easier on my shoulders and upper back. Plus no line twist on the drop shot.

Humm, mine works fine with Frogs, Slop, jigs, you name it.
You try swimming with an 8lb weigh draggin on you. That will tire out a fish plently fash.
