The Yamamoto BIG Bass Challenge is FINALLY here!

Post by AnglersPress »

BETHEL ISLAND, Ca. - Judging by the “buzz” at the local tackle shops, anyone that enjoys the hunt for BIG Bass are just chompin’ at the bit to get to Russo’s Marina this Saturday, have their livewells checked, and get out on the water.

This is because they know that every minute wasted is another lost opportunity to catch a BIG Bass and collect one of the sixty checks that will be handed out each hour for five hours – for 2 consecutive days, at the 2nd Annual Yamamoto Big Bass Challenge, which will be held this Saturday and Sunday on the California delta at Russo’s Marina.

This event, being held on the best bass fishery in the country, at the best time of year, using the #1 bass catching bait ever created – all for a low entry and great payout, creates the perfect storm for fun and excitement, plus gives everyone – at all skill levels a great opportunity to the be a hero for a day (or at least an hour)!

Only Yamamoto or Kinami baits can be used during this event, adding a distinct challenge to the venue, but it also makes things pretty comfortable for most, as the Senko bait, which is manufactured exclusively by Yamamoto, is standard equipment for anyone that fishes the California delta.

And for this year FINALLY, the weather is forecast to be sunny and beautiful, as it is a good bet that some monster females are up in the shallows looking for a big 7” Senko to eat, or waiting to digest one of the great hard baits Kinami makes such as the Sugoi Splash (topwater popper), or the Jay Walker (walking spook type bait), or their ¼ oz “clacking” buzzbait.

And if you need to go a bit deeper to catch your big fish, Kinami has a variety of crankbaits, and spinnerbaits for you to choose from! You can find many of the baits you need at just about every tackle store in northern California, but just in case you forgot something, the Hook, Line and Sinker store in Oakley and Bethel Island will have baits available for you on Friday, the day before the event, and at the ramp Saturday morning, the day of the event.

You can sign up for the event this Friday at the Hook, Line and Sinker in Oakley, from 4-7pm, or the morning of the event at Russo’s Marina starting at 4am. Entry fee is $150 per person – which covers you for both days or if you can only fish just one day, the fee is $100. Entry fee for youth 15 and under is just $20 which also covers them for both days.

Music, Raffles, BBQ and a lot of Big Bass will be on tap this weekend, so get it together and call to get signed up now!

Don’t forget to smile when you get that BIG Fish, as this event will be televised and the TV cameras will be rolling to catch all of the exciting action!

We look forward to seeing you all there!
