The original box for any collectible item - be it watches, cameras, guns, or fishing stuff - is worth real money when you sell the item.
I NEVER throw away any of the above boxes - depending on the value of the main item, you might add 5-10% to the final sales value of your item when you sell it.
If you don't believe me, search feeBay for "Colt Box" or "Smith & Wesson Box" and you'll be surprised what they are worth.
I have a couple boxes for a series of Benchmade knives, that shot way up in value after they were discontinued. These are very small boxes, but I still had no problem getting $3.00 plus S&H for them, and that was a couple years ago.
Do I keep boxes for Rattletraps, or even Lucky Crafts? No. For Reels, or Lunker Punkers? Yep
