Toy hauler question, maybe someone knows...

Post by davet. »

I dont know if this is available or feasable but I would like to find a toy hauler type of trailer that would accomodate a full size Ranger boat and trailer. I wanna camp and boat but don't want to pull a fifth wheel with a boat because of the length. Also, not a cabover camper because I dont want to wake the family when I launch at 5 AM. Does anyone have a solution or idea? I would appreciate any input. Thanks.

Take the Camper off

Get a cabover camper and take it off when you get to your camping spott, then you have the truck to haul the boat without waking the family.

I thought about that....

but we're talking about three young kids and a wife that needs her space. I think a camper would be too cramped, but thanks for the input.

Another thing to think about, if you get a Toy Hauler type trailer, unless you leave the boat in the water, you'll be moving it every morning anyway.

Over the last 20 years I have tried it all, Had the boat and 20 foot travel trailer, pulled both with a full size blazer all over the state towing the wife and three kids along. Tried the motor home, Camper, tents, Camper shell and tents and motels. All worked well in some areas and not so in others. When it came down to it, I was the most comfortable with the Blazer towing the travel trailer towing the boat. Never a problem. Even pulled the combo down onto the lake bed at Shasta. All in all now with the cost of gas, food and lodging, it makes it real tough. No easy way anymore. The cost is like taking a major vacation just to go for a week end.

Check out the article dated 8/30/05 in bass fan about Randy Howell. I think this is kind of what you want but bigger. you would probably want a smaller one than this thing.

Dave,

If interested in the Zephyr Hauler give me a call. I am doing a site for them and also will be selling them.
