Mike,
Where'd you find that setup?

orchard supply/home depot/lowes , in the electrical/lighting section

its a great way to "tie" jigs while on the water and easily make subtle changes to skirt colors on the fly.

find the smallest sized zip ties you can find, they run a couple of bucks per pack of 20, the gun is around $3-4 or so IIRC.

on the jig: get the zip tie started by putting the tag end into the "socket" end so that it forms the loop, then put your skirt on the jig and get it laid out the way you want it and then hold it in place with one hand, with the other hand attach the zip tie where you want it and cinch it down as best you can with one hand, use the gun to cinch it tight, catch fish.

the hardest part is getting the skirt laid out evenly and onto the jig head, this procedure works on any skirted bait

Cool! Thanks.
All this time, I've been using the green twist wires from the market, or braid with super glue.
That setup looks like the way to go.

you're welcome, let me know what you think if/when you try it out. someone else showed it to me awhile back so I thought I'd pass it on. hate those damn rubber bands...

here's another tip for setting up rattles on a zip tied jig too:

to attach rattles buy some very small heat shrink tubing in the same OSH/HD/Lowes electrical section, cut a section about 3/4" and shrink it around the rattle leaving some of the rattle exposed along with an empty tag end of about 3/8" - 1/2" or so. the tubing should be small enough to really grip the rattle after you've shrunk the tubing onto the rattle with a heat gun/blowdryer/lighter/etc. Then, when you are cinching the zip tie by hand, you can stick the empty tag end of the tubing-rattle setup under the zip tie and cinch it the rest of the way down.

giving up what few secrets that I have...

re-use that green garden twist to help keep your loose skirt material lined up and together -- like the bulk skirts you can buy at various tackle shops, just without that danged rubber band
