Us2 transducer to Helix 7 mega down imaging

Alright so I ordered a Terrova 55lb thrust with the built is us2 transducer and I also have my Helix 7 w mega down imaging. I'm putting these on my tracker classic xl. I read that connecting the Helix7 to the built in us2 will not provide any down imaging. If i want to get my Mega down imaging, should I clamp the transducer that comes with the Helix to the bottom of my trolling motor?

Also I bought a us8 cable is that pretty much pointless? lol

No mega without going to a new transducer. My advice and hopefully you haven’t opened any of the transducer packaging or hardware that came with the helix but call Humminbird and they will swap out the skimmer that came with the helix for the correct mega down transducer you need for the barrel mount on the TM. Keep the adapter cable in the mean time so you can use the 2d built into the terrova. Then once you get the new transducer ditch the adapter cable.

Other option buy the newer ultrex with everything built in. Then it’s plug and play.
