Veritas and Veritas 2.0

I have had the Abu Garcia Veritas rods for a few years and they have been solid, especially for the price. I just got one of the new 2.0s. They are supposed to be stronger and they have also improved the reel seat. The reel seat on the first version was something that occasionally came loose and in my opinion wasn't the best design. This one has a micro click adjustment and seems to lock down much tighter on my reel.



There are a few other differences but seem mostly cosmetic, like different graphics. I also noticed the butt section is much thinner and more like the Veracity and Villain if you have used those, its thinner and flatter. I weighed both just because I am a tackle nerd and there was a difference, the 2.0 was lighter by a slight margin but that could just be the different components and not necessarily the blank being that much different.



I have two of the exact same models, the 7'6" MH Winch in both the 1.0 and 2.0 and noticed the guides are a few inches higher on the first few for 2.0, which may be to enhance it and maximize casting or just a coincidence.

So far, so good but I have yet to fish it. Has anyone used the 2.0s yet?
