Vicious Fluorocarbon

Does anyone use this line. Does it hold up good, how often do you change fluorocarbon in general?

I use all Vicious lines. Not just because they are a sponsor, as I was using them before I went on staff with them. I really like their fluorocarbon in the 12-15lb test. I use this line for dropshotting as well as on one of my spinnerbait rods. It makes a fantastic leader for C-riggin as well. The majority of my reels are spooled with vicious braid either in a 30 or 50 lb test depending on application. I guess I need to ask what appliction you are going to use the fluoro in. I've had no issues with breakoffs and as I use Vicious line conditioner and KVD Line and Lure memory and twist are at a minimum. Just my .02

Basically soft plastics, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, rip baits, Jigs. Stuff like that.

Josh,

Check the diameter of Vicious Fluorocarbon with Segar Fluorocarbon and the one that is less go with! I myself use Segar!
As for your application I would recommend (for the Delta) the following:

Soft plastics – Fluorocarbon
Spinnerbaits – braid
Crankbaits – Mono but if you want to get a little deeper use Fluorocarbon but if you’re not using a Glass rod go with Mono, it has a little more give in the line.
Rip baits – Mono or Fluorocarbon
Jigs – Fluorocarbon, but there are those that like braid for jigs!

Dude I fish Vicious! Florocarbon Braid and Copolymer. I have been for three plus years now. While others are twice and three times the price, Vicious has done very well for me. Many choose to spend BIG dollars on Florocarbon when the fact is more and more anglers are choosing Vicous! West Coast sales continue to grow annaully and many of the Elite anglers are using Vicious. Hell I know of several anglers sponsored by other companys that fish Vicious Florocarbon a lot!

Of Your dealer doesn't have it I will gladly get them onboard with one of the fastest growing market shares in the West!

Heck I had a 5.87 this morning on Clear Lake on Vicious FC...

My personal opinion is that it is garbage! I've tried different test's and it seems to be really stiff and breaks to easily for me.

I have heard the BPS brand is not bad, I have not tried it. I'm a Seaguar guy. Anyone tried the BPS stuff?

I havent tried the BPS stuff yet was wondering myself, and also about berkely 100%. I am usuing seaguar now. any input would be helpful. As for viscious, I had someone give me a couple spools in 12 and 15 I have never had an issue with it, but not wild about it. Scott

Vicious fluoro sucks so bad I gave mine to Scott Robertson.

Oh, hey there Scott.

Just kidding around guys...

(Scott: Guess I just screwed myself out of the damn pro staff pricing at your dinner right? )

I tried it before and its not top notch fluoro but ok for the price.

Oh really what test's, what comparisons? It;s Florocarbon it all sucks in the memory and stiffness catagory. Buy a 30 dollar treated spool or a 15 dollar spool and use some KVD line and lure... hmmm that gets me good line and conditioner and 10 bucks for gas towards my next trip!

I can tell you, 5 over ten pounds the first year I used it on the Delta....

Yes I'll be the first to say 4 years ago when they had a spooling die problem on some samples that went out, yeah there was a problem. Now no problem, even in cold conditions the trout guys are catching on to Vicious. Errrrrrr! Get Bit with Vicious!

www.basstackledepot.com has it!

If you're talking to me Dan, I was kind of joking around. I gave him the line he's talking about above.

I was one of the first or second West Coast guys to rep for Team V before anyone years ago. They did come a long way since then. I know Keith and the JBS guys well. I will say that they run one of the tightest and best in class pro staff programs out there.

I'm not trying to stomp out your party here. If people like it then use it and enjoy the sport of fishing!

I had terrible luck with it on dropshotting. I've never broke off as many fish as I did with the vicious I got. It was bad enough that I gave away a bulk spool. Perhaps it was from when they were having trouble because it has been quite some time. My buddy also had trouble in the smaller pound test, but liked the 15+.

I have used the 6lb, but it has more memory than any other fluoro that I have ever used. Seaguar or BPS works better in the lighter tests. One question what is the point of getting a new line and putting a conditioner on it? Maybe if you have to do that it's not the right line to start with?
I won't purchase any more of it.

I have tried the Vicious #12 and #15 flourocarbon and it is a mixed feeling. The #12 broke way to easy but the #15 was fine for throwing the smaller swimbaits on a sensitive rod. The line is kind of stiff for what I like and you have to change it quite often. I will use it for fun fishing, but tourneys will be getting p-line/Seagar all the way. Just my .02
