West Coast Bass Sept 19th and 20th

Post by russ@russmeyer1.com »

West Coast Bass Shasta Sept 19th and 20th. Can't wait to fish this event the bit is very good the water level is 30 ft higher than this time last year. The ramp at bridge Bay is good plenty of parking.I hope to see a good tournament. Most of the locals that I know up here are ready to fish . The heat is over and the bait is on top that can be a blast .The water temp is 72 in the morning and 75 in the afternoon. You can catch fish deep on spoons or spooks on top. Everyone will have limits. See ya there.

The bite this weekend was awesome. The bass were gorging on shad and were easy to catch. Was catching 4-15 fish an hour with the bite lasting all day. The bite should be great for this tournament. I wish it wasn't during a National Guard.

I would have fished it also-if it weren't during practice for the NG.

Good luck with the derbie-ought to be fun.

Having been to Shasta last week I can attest to what Russ say's. The only down thing I can say is if your launching alone, you're probably going to get your feet wet. Back tires of truck were in the water just to float the boat at Bridge bay, but with 72-77 degree water bring your biodegradeable soap.

Russ hows the clarity, is the lake still dropping about a foot a day?

Russ

Have you heard how many anglers have committed? With Won Bass TOC and FLW NG all going on at the same time, I wonder how many anglers will fish Shasta Lake WCB. The last few had only 25 to 30 boats.

I'll be there. Fishing the back seat. Looking forward to it, Larry does a good job. Is there any place at Bridgebay to park a camper? If not, where would be the closest place? Anyone need a prefish partner?

The clarity is about 2 to 3 ft main body during the day 4 to 5 ft early morning before boat traffic. The boat ramp has always been shallow this time of year . But a least its all paved. I just jump up to my running boards to my rear tire to my bumper when I'm by my self and I'm there .And I'm no spring chicken, so I am sure anybody else can do it without getting wet. If you have a partner its no issue.

I have not heard. However I will be fishing it no matter what Because I had to pick one circuit since I don't fish full time anymore and my line of work force's me at this time to stay focused on selling Real-Estate. But even before Real-Estate I ended up favoring a lake or a certain group of associations and just fished. Because every time I did ask how many sign ups there were they either did not tell it like it really was or danced around the question. But it makes sense to me now because if they tell enough people a low number ,that are basing whether they are going to fish or not on those numbers ,then you end up ultimately with less people. So its better to not even say anything at all.Just tell a lot of people and bring people and they will have the numbers.hope to see you there.

The way the Delta's on/off, you will have more fun at Shasta and spend a lot less money.

Hi Gary I have not been fishing much lately and heard you won the US Open I have always had a huge amount of admiration for you. But I got to say that was over the top. Great job and Congratulations to ya. I hope you have a great 2010 season as well.
