Well for better or for worse they say....West Coast Bass Pro-ams will be back next season. We plan to do 5 shared wieght pro-ams with a Classic fish off. This is your chance to have a weekend pro-am circuit and we will televise every event. Both fisherman and the sponsors will benefit from the media exposure we have planned. When you get a chance log on to www.westcoastbass.net and vote for the lakes, entry fees and option amounts. Participation is the key to having a great circuit We need you to get involved. We will post the lakes and dates after the July 11 permit meeting. That's .net... vote today!

I have heard good things about this circut, and if I have the money I plan on fishing it as an AM for all 5 events...if it doesn't interfere with the Stren and or National Guard which ever one of those I decide to fish.

Seems that they forgot
about the other 1/2 of the state -- SoCal. How convenient.

Will there be any So Cal lakes left open by this time next year?

Re: West Coast Bass
Glad to see WCB making a come back is Larry V. still gonna run it? or was the name bought out? If Larry is running it you still owe Gary Watts and I jackets and Plaques for 1999 runners up to anglers of the year!
I fished it way back then how many remember these?
If yall start a WCB museum I'll sell it for alot of money.

I am new to posting on westernbass wow what a great forum they have built for the fisherman. I'm posting again because I failed to post the information on the socal forum. Just want you guys to know that as soon as I finish this post I will attempt to post on the socal forum. Thanks for your interest. I think the voting poll is working correctly now on westcoastbass.net.

Got a little pissy prematurly didn't you Brian ?? Give the guy a chance. He is new at posting on here. Also there are lakes listed in the so. cal list to fish also ...so go vote !!
Re: Seems that they forgot
Must have missed that list... where are the So. Cal. lakes listed? I see Other, unless you're referring to Mead, Roosevelt, Pleant or Havasu? Don't think any of those qualify for "So. Cal", but regardless sounds like a good circuit. I cast my votes and look forward to seeing the finalized schedule.

Does anyone know how official pre-fish works for this circuit? Any off-limits period?
Re: Seems that they forgot
Your kidding RIGHT???????
Will our memberships still be good from when you closed up shop last time????

Re: Seems that they forgot
Good question on the memberships. The people who took over West Coast Bass did honor memberships at least until they went out of business three years later. The reason I know this is that was a stipulation of sale. There will be no membership fee this time. However we are considering a small service fee at every event to cover some overhead directly related to member benefits. Those benefits will be clearly outlined and you will get your monies worth. It will amount to less than the old annual member fee if you fish all five events.
We will do our best to keep the cost to the fishermen as low as possible and the paybacks as high as possible. Please try to keep in mind it is a business and it has to pencil out to have a future. So far we are not coming in with a 6 million dollar sponsor to pay the bills but rest assured the potential is there to get serious sponsor support with the TV exposure. Participation is needed first to get sponsors to raise the anti for paybacks. That's where you come in. I'ts kind of that chicken an egg thing. The fisherman have to give us time to get sponsor support.
Sorry, did not mean to get carried away but this is such a good forum to answer tough questions. I'm looking forward to the challenge and I will try my best.

Re: Seems that they forgot
I'm sorry. I assumed that Havasu was a California/Arizona Lake. In southern Ca.
Seems to be the only lake big enough to host 100 boats or more for this type of tournament in southern California?
Just can't imagine having/holding a tournament of this size and stature that it used to be on a lake the size of Casitas, Castiac, Perris. or even Diamond Valley. I think the choices? sizes are good ones.
My god, we send enough water to you people every year to build (2) lakes the size of Shasta. What do you people do with all that water from here ??? So spend some time and money, come up here to win some money and see where your water comes from.
Spell checked and no caps I might add!

No worries Jigs...
There are a bunch of lakes (central coast on down the state) that can host a 100 boat events.
We water our lawns and wash our Mercedes of course. LOLMy god, we send enough water to you people every year to build (2) lakes the size of Shasta. What do you people do with all that water from here ???

Oh, I loved this circuit and was really sorry to see it go. Was actually lucky enough to win the Amature side on Oroville in 97 with the help of 2 really fine pros. Even now not confident enough to fish pro, but would be interested in seeing a team circuit with West Coast Bass. I voted and hope all works out. Do the magazine to if possible. I have copies of all from the years I fished, and yep, Gary's picture is on most of them.

Havasu is certainly on the border of California and Arizona, and I suppose it's lattitude could qualify it as southern, although it could also be considered Central and is certainly considerably Eastern!

Seriously though, there are several that could accommodate 100-boat events down here, albeit not as spaciously as some of the waters up there. DVL just had 99 boats for the night event last Saturday, and it is currently far below normal pool. Casitas could handle that field, but unfortunately with their inspection policies and shenanigans they've taken it out of consideration for all but a select few (too bad, as it is still my favorite place down here). Cash-take is large enough as well, and several others could do so. Of course, I'm not claiming they're nearly as spacious as many up North, but it is after all called West Coast Bass which has certain connotations.
And for the record, I have driven to many destinations north in the last couple of years, so am a little familiar... this year I did Shasta, Clear Lake and the Delta. Last year, did Clear Lake, Folsom, Oroville, New Melones, and the Sac. Man, you guys have some water up there - how about sending some more down?!?

Seriously, love it up there. Looking forward to seeing what they put together, and will probably be cranking up the miles again next year.

After some thought on the subject, 5 tournies at 1000.00 each boater no options and a daily big fish paid on both sides. Just my .o2.

Re: Seems that they forgot
Hey Brian D.,
Seems you are forgetting that there are a few tournament orgs down your way that don't service NorCal at all. So what's your beef?
And I know you guys like to pack them in on those tiny little lakes down there but up here we don't have to pack them in at all. With the exception of Havasu, there isn't a lake down there that 'comfortably' handles 100+ boats. Heck y'all think DVL is the cat's meow, and the fishing itself likely is but by no means is a 4500 surface acre lake a GREAT place to run a 100 boat field. Castiac and Casitas are almost half that size.
And who says any of these guys running regional Pro Ams wants to be limited to a 100 boat field if they can possibly get more.
