I used to fish whale rock, when I was a kid ,living in morro bay,it was full of big landlocked steelhead!after the dam was built, but the years took a toll on whale rock!,the native squaw fish would follow the trout up the creeks,& eat every egg that was laid, the steelhead where wiped out,& by the time the lake was officially open for sport fishing ,it was a bust!,I still live in the area,& have not heard anything at all lately....

I'd love to fish the lake in the spring. Looks like their are lots of little spawning coves around with standing brush. I know they have trout in there but have you ever caught any largemouth?
