On the 8" and bigger, I'm looking to try some different line. I'm currently using 25 # p-line. Strong but too thick.
Thanks,
Rob Dickson
What brand and test do you use on the bigger Swimbaits?

Thanks for all the great responses. I'm not looking for someones secret technique, just an idea of some good brand line and pound test to try.
Re: What brand and test do you use on the bigger Swimbaits?
If you don't mind a biased pro-staff opinion... I use 25 triple fish camoescent and in clear water I add to that a 3-4' leader of 25lb triple fish florocarbon. The line is inexpensive, gets bit, and doesn't break unexpectedly like other brands I've tried along the way. I change line every 3-6 trips depending on how hard I fish it.
In the interest of not being called a Darrell, I checked my logs for this year figure I caught 55 swimbait fish from 5 to 14.2lbs on triple fish with no break offs. That's the kind of consistency I look for in all my tackle.
I assume you are the same Rob D who has done well in several Perris tournaments that I saw results for this year, so if your program is working, sometimes it's best to just stay with what's working, but if you're getting broken off for no reason or feel like you aren't getting bit like you should, give the triple fish a try. A 1/4lb spool of the 25 camoescent is $6.99 and a filler spool of 25 floro is $11.99 so it's a cheap experiment.

How do you feel about the yozuri hybrid in 30 lb test? What Rod would you recommend for throwing those big 8 inch swimbaits
Re: What brand and test do you use on the bigger Swimbaits?
I have not tried the yo-zuri hybrid. For me at this point there isn't a big motivation to experiment. I like what I use so I've become stubborn about it
Rod wise, maybe you can send me a PM or something. I don't want to spam the board.
