What would be considered the "North Delta"

Post by Tobe »

I have a buddy fishing the North Delta on monday and would like to meet up with him, I lost his phone# so I guess I'll take my chances and look for him.
Can anybody help me with fishable area's of the "North Delta"
Slough names, hazzards, etc. He did mention fishing frogs on mats?

Thanks

I've been fishing that area at least once for the last 3 weeks. The morning bite is great, but then it goes completely dead. Been using spinnerbaits and Rat L Traps. Tried senkos and sizmic toads but haven't had much success.

Also, you'll probably catch a striper or two -- they're real aggressive in the morning. We've caught them on spinnerbait and Rat L Traps.

Gary,

Thursday morning you will find Bass Traveller in Pilot Sl. Just off of Rodman. Look for the Pelican (Statue) with the blemished left side of peak. 200ft from it. Their stack in their.

Me I'll be 517yrd down wind of the Cormerant Tree just North of Lucerne's Pizza Parlor.

Traveller, was that the leftside of the peak or the rightside. Distance may very some with a Lowrance, Garmin, or Humminbird GPS units.

The long journey thanks to the "Bass Traveler"

Post by Tobe »

Well, it's 5:10 am, we put in at B&W and head northwest to Rodman slough.

After a long 6 hour boat ride I know we're gettin close because we see a sign for Cache Creek Casino!

Now I've heared the Delta has over 1000 miles of waterways and beings we've only covered 109 miles I knew the North Delta was huge.

Another hour goes by and we find ourselves jumping rapids and dodging rafters in Cache Creek, finally we come to a dam but there is no locke system, i'ts a dead end! what a wasted day.

I thought I'd post our unfortunate ordeal in the hopes that other poor anglers would not make the same dumb mistake we did.

We think we know how the "Bass Traveler" got his nickname but I still don't think he knew about that dam.

Thanks anyways Sieg!
