2 wheel wingnuts......lets see it and hear it...

Post by shifterpilot2001 »

Not enough posts in here about us 2 wheeled gladiators of the past and present....

Chime in.... brag, gloat, share stories and pics....talk some trash......

This is from 1992... when standup wheelies were not in the mainstream ....no rediculous rear sprocket, no thumb brake, no cage for the motor.... just true raw skill and stupidity... lol...note the single pia behind the race glass... wired to a switch for the stealth getaways in the dark... 8) .....

I was parts manager at dublin kaw hon suz for a few years. worked at livermore yam for that crook carozza for a bunch of years too. 89 125 int trans cal series champ. 91 gfi winter 125 pro series champ. made a few national mx shows and top 10nd 4 off road nationals.

30 broken bones later I found a much less dangerous sport.
you mean chuck sorenson? him and bobby keith used to race togther, fast guys.

I used to buy my parts at San Mateo Yam, they did ok for me on price.

I was pretty lucky on the bone side - right collar bone 3 times, both arms (at the same time), and a thumb

ya, he was. but christ that boy could crash, always rode fast and at the edge of traction/crashing, riding behind him was an adventure, you were never sure if he was going to be getting off at any moment and gather you up with him.

we raced at the AMA Nationals at Laguna in 97 and he crashed out at the top of the hill after *flying* by me coming up the hill to the corkscrew. me: "****, there goes Rocky, I better step it up", then in a cloud of dirt there sits Rocky at the top of the hill with his bike all balled up. Later he's got all the various pieces in the back of his van, he's all taped up and laughing about it. He's a good guy, always a smile on his face.
