If you like the mudbugs then you might want to head to Iselton this weekend for the Craw Dad Festival. I used to go every year and there are some good eats there.

Bob's Bait Shop in Isleton sells and ships them for bait and tablefare.

Get you a couple traps, bait them and put them out where there is a good current.... You'll have plenty to eat in a short time. I'd let them soak in some fresh clean water (Aereated) for a day or two to get rid of the mud taste....

How far is this from Russo's Marina?

If you really want the best tasting Dads do this.
Sly Park/Jenkisin Lake or Lake Almanor, Catch a few trout to grill up and use the head and guts for bait. Fill your traps and toss them out over night in rocky areas, at Jenkison it seemed like the first dam was the spot. At Almanor the Hamilton Branch area was Excellent. At both lakes those Dad's were huge and fresh from the cold water environment no fishy mud bug taste.
Go up catch a few trout spend the night enjoy the veiw and fill up a bucket of yummy Dad's.

EEGADS!! You guys are eating crawfish out of the Delta? If you keep doing that you will look like this person (hopefully the image insert works, not real sure how to do it).
First thing that happens is you lose all your hair, then your ears get real big, then you get a double chin, then you get real fat. Before you know it you cant really fish anymore so the only thing you can do is catch fish off beds! Those Delta crawfish are loaded with more pollutants than the LA River in downtown LA.

Sly Park/Jenkisin Lake
Hipster -- You are ALMOST to Crawdad NIRVANA

70% + better is to drop your traps on the N. side of 50 at Slab Lake ... Right where the American drops in.
Sly is good as well and I drop my traps there as my parents live 3 miles more down the rad from there.
But even with Diesel @ $5.24 a gallon... I will take traps full of those Blue Daddys every time !!

For bait I used Salmon or Mackerel as it is more oily. -- I have me also #20 of ROTTEN Albacore that got lost in UPS transit last year that is taking up my freezer.
