Which Shimano Rod

Post by E=MC2 »

Here is what I'm looking for. I need a rod that can throw small to medium crankbaits, pop baits and jerkbaits. would like it to be 7'0" or longer. I can't afford top of the line but don't want bottom of the line either. Please give me your opinions or experiences with a suitable rod. Thanks in advance!

Crucial CRCC72MH is a great all around rod for the baits you listed.

With the rod suggested I would be a little worried about it being a medium heavy. What weight baits can you throw with it?

This is a good all around rod. If you want something lighter then look at the CRCC70M. The MH will work with baits from a little under 3/8-1 ounce.

Bantam:

Is the CRCC72MH good for spooks and DD22s? I have this rod in mind for these baits primarily. Your boys at the fred hall show said it is perfect for DD22 and will be able to walk a spook well....true story???

Thanks!

Yes true story. This rod is just one of those rods you can do several things with including DD22's, spooks, shallow cranks, DLN, Sammy...
