Who has fished Sufix 832 Braid?
Who has fished Sufix 832 Braid?
This line won best of show at ICAST last year. If you have tried it, what do you think? I love the handling characteristics of Power Pro and have used it for about 7 years. How does it compare?
Re: Who has fished Sufix 832 Braid?
I was going to buy the 832 but from talking to others, went with the Daiwa Samurai. From others that have fished both the Samurai holds up better. It costs a ton more so I would hope it is more durable.
The tipping factor for me was the diameter. The 15 pound test Daiwa is smaller than the 10 pound Sufix. I hope I made the right choice. I too am changing from the PowerPro to the new technology. From spooling up (I have 15lb, 40lb, and 70lb) it seems smoother but only smaller in the 15. It will get a good test next week at Okeechobee.

Re: Who has fished Sufix 832 Braid?
Todd, I spooled on the Suffix 832 10lb onto my spinning reel for drop shotting this year. I have fished it approximatly 3 times and my initial thoughts are this LIMP very limp, goes through the guides like silk, does not hang in the bail and no looping, the wider spool makes it go onto the reel effortlessly, very strong. CON - the color started coming off after the first time it hit water, I have not noticed it losing any more color on the second and third trip. It does NOT have the waxy coating that Power Pro and Spider wire has, it is just gossamar line. I will probably tie some on my Froggy rod when I go to swap it out this spring.toddmc wrote:This line won best of show at ICAST last year. If you have tried it, what do you think? So A+ for me

Not sure about the new Suffix but I will never use the Diawa again. You could not pay me to use it, I had it snap/break sevral times on small (2-3lb) fish 50lb test. I also did not care for the knot streangth, I noticed that after catching a fish or two the knot was starting to slip. I like the original suffix but will wait for more input before filling my reels. I still think your best bet is power pro, spiderwire, and suffix orig braid.
