Simple answer; DAIWA. They are fast, reasonable, always have the parts. And there right here in SoCal so it's all very easy. They've been doing my real for a long time and they are great.

Thanks, but looking for just a cleaning of the reels and maybe upgrade bearings and tuning. Daiwa website seems like for repairs and warranty work.

They probably don't "upgrade bearings" but I send them my reels at the beginning of each season just for cleaning and any tuning that might be required. Prices are actually the same or less than Dan charges for his great Shimano work. They sometimes find things I didn't know about.

Any more recommendations? Daiwa doesn't do everything.

Can't imagine getting better servicing, cleaning, bearing upgrades, etc. from anybody other than Daiwa in Cypress in SoCal. They do way more than just warranty repairs. I sent them eight PS2-5B's which they serviced, cleaned, and upgraded bearings for with quick turn-around and reasonable prices. You can call them first to confirm they have the parts, etc., needed for your reels, at (800)736-4653. Then, you send the reels to:

DAIWA Corporation
Attn: Reel Repair
11137 Warland Drive
Cypress, CA 90630
Please practice CPR (catch, photo, and release)

If you are in San Diego drop your reel off at Angler's Arsenal in La Mesa before 10am on Friday. We have a regular services that picks up all reel and rod repairs and returns the items back to us by the following Friday.

Right now, because of the change in products for the 2012 season, there is a shortage of some part. Luckily our guys have an inventory of current and past model parts that makes the replacement of parts easier. With Daiwa, if parts need to be ordered from the factory, we can order them for you, but than we are subject to the amount of time it takes Daiwa to get them to us.

Regular service and drag washers on all makes of reels both fresh or saltwater are not a big problem and can usually be turned over in a week.

If you need to contact us for an address to mail your reel to give us a call at 619 466 8355

Daiwa will service and clean your reel. They also repair reels. They do a great job. They are in Cerritos. Give them a call.
