I’ve talked to many people that would fish but don’t want the non shared weight

IMO shared weight is for team tournaments and there are plenty of those. Real competition is non-shared where the boaters are competing against the boaters and the non's against the non's. The FLW/MLF were/are non-shared. The BAM Trail looks to be a great option.

Nothing worse than being in a boat as a co angler when the pro is geeking out on FFS in 100 feet of water and the co has no hope to catch chit
Needs to be shared weight to be fair for the Co's
And no I don't want to learn FFS crap

Well as far as a AM goes I see there point on the shared weight format, But As a pro and in my 35 years of fishing tournaments I see the pro's and con's to it. As a pro I'm putting up all the time and money and boat to try and reach that goal of number one, Now I can't speak for all the pro's out there but I don't think there intentionally trying to back seat anyone. I know that I personally have 6 top ten's and a win out of the back of my boat in the last 5 years so if you work at it you can do it. That being said I know that in a shared weight format you can work together as a team and make the day a little less competitive lets say. but in that format it's all based on " WHO' you draw as a pro if you win or not. The other is based on your ability to watch your pro learn and catch your own fish. The share weight format is the lazy man's way to do it in my opinion. As a pro I want go out and fish and not have to worry about what the AM is fishing with or what size line he has tied on etc....Now they're some acceptations of course, But from my perspective the non shared weight is the the one I would rather fish if I was an Am.

No doubt Mark will run a clean organization. I’ve fished shared weight and non shared weight. The shared weight days were always more fun as you are going into it as a team for the day.

Been fishing pro\ams for 24 years in both formats and can tell u I still enjoy BOTH formats for a slew of different reasons and both definitely have their pros and cons...no pun intended. If you want to fish shared weight formats exclusively New Jen is a great organization... IMO...that provides for that...
