Re: Winchester Tradition 30 gun safe 4 sale or trade.
I have looked around and honesty it did not help much. The Winchester are stitch welded which is a big downside. Even cheaper the Bighorn has continuous welds. I have been looking at the Bighorn but it only has bolts on 2 sides of the door.
I am perfectly willing to spend more but ONLY if i actually get a more secure RSC. I dont care about fancy paint or leather trim. I looked at a Browning was a little nicer, bolts on 3 sides of the door, a little more fire rating (45 min) and the door frame was boxed which i really liked. But it is still 12g steel for twice the price (570 -1000). I also looked at a Amsec SF6032 locally for $1300 (3 times the price of the Bighorn!). 1/4' door which is VERY nice and 60 min fire, but still only 12g steel.
It just feels like i dont get much better than a $570 Costco Bighorn until i get into TL rated safes. PLEASE correct me if i am wrong. I do want to understand this stuff. But i am i really much safer from theft with the Browning or Amsec?
