T wing grooving
Has anyone here experienced a grooving problem with their Daiwa T wing reels?

Re: T wing grooving
What exactly is "grooving". I have a tatula type r that started making a weird sound on the cast. My guess is that it has to do with the t wing but I'm not positive. Looking into sending it the daiwa service center.

Oh wow how weird. I have 6 tatulas and went out sunday and one of them was making a knocking noise when casting. If you know what the problem is and if it's covered by warranty please let me know.
Re: T wing grooving
Braid can be very abrasive and cut into poorly heat treated metal, one reason rod guides are hard or ceramic.
Something else to check, thanks for the heads up.

Calling Daiwa directly is what I've seen recommended.Roscoe wrote:Oh wow how weird. I have 6 tatulas and went out sunday and one of them was making a knocking noise when casting. If you know what the problem is and if it's covered by warranty please let me know.
I would first contact the retailer where I bought the reel, and see how they want you to handle it.
On that link someone posted that Daiwa would fix the reels for free, so follow through with the retailer, and Daiwa, if the retailer doesn't handle it.

Hey thanks I appreciate the 411. I really love the tatulas and hate to point out I have one not working right but I'm sure every brand will have a few bad reeks every now and then. Thanks

Roscoe,
I'm sure it's just a small run of inferior parts from one of their suppliers, not all their reels. Daiwa is a class outfit that makes good products.
Contact them, and let us know how it works out.
