Dang! There must be a story, there. The good thing about the Tri-States is that they can still pick up a Day 2 , big bag, check.

Re: Won Bass Fish off?????
No story really. We had 3 bass for about 4.5 pounds and dumped them. Probably not the best decision in the world but oh well, it's just fishing not life or death. Went out the next day and got 3rd big bass and a check to pay for the gas we used for the weekend. We never got on the fish during the tournament, sometimes it goes like that. Looking forward for the pro-am in Nov. Great job Shawn and Mike!! Also, big up's to Mike and Clint!!

ditto what Guy said...
no story really... We had our butts handed to us in a big way at this tournament. We flat got beat!!!!
Prefish looked very promising as we went big looking for bigger bites. Guy and I fished hookless on thursday and had the donkeys eating our offerings including a 5-6 lb largemouth on one of my baits, a 4 lb smallmouth on another one of my baits, a 4 1/2+ lb smallmouth on one of Guys baits and at least 4-5 others that were all over 3 lbs. We could have had 18+ on Thursday. Shoulda coulda woulda...when the clock was running and it was go time we flat didnt get the bites. No excuses...
We had maybe 4 1/2 lbs on day 1 and we made the decision to dump them at the ramp because we knew we wouldnt have a chance to win it and most likely wouldnt be able to make up the difference to cash a check. We fish for 1st. It wouldnt have matter to us to see our names in 60th place after day 1.
Typically we wouldnt have dumped the fish like that after day 1 of a 2 day event but for whatever reason we did this time. ..Maybe the heat got to us. regardless, we did it and we went back the house and put the day behind us and concentrated on what we had to do to go out and catch a big fish to salvage a check.
We did just that and came in with the 4 lber and got 3rd big fish on day 2.
Congrats to Shawn and Mike for the win.
Congrats to Mike and Clint on their 2nd place.
Also congrats to Dino and Joey for their 3rd place finish. From the sound of it, they let this tournament win slip away with a couple mistakes because they had the fish on both days that would have won them this tournament. Next time guys...nice job anyway!!
Also for those that think that Hippie (Team Dead Money prostaffer) is such a bad guy. He was going up river on Thursday and saw Raphael Samuel (Robert Schnieders partner) stranded by himself on the river. Apparently Raphael didnt see the sand bar and drove his Skeeter 30 yards up onto it. Hippie turned around and went over to help. Hippie and Barry (netb****) spent the next hour standing in the river rockin Raphs boat and pushing it to get it off the sand bar. After an hour they finally managed to free the boat and they all went on their way. So props to you Jason and Barry for lending him a very appreciated helping hand.
Oh and one more note...FOUR OF THE SIX BIG FISH IN THIS TOURNAMENT WERE CAUGHT BY TEAMS FROM THE DVL REGION.
John Curry/John Krumsiek 3rd big fish day 1
Dino Caporusio/Joey Caporusio 1st big fish day 2
Kyle Grover and Will Rakowitz 2nd big fish day 2
Guy Williams and Me 3rd Big fish on day 2
Way to represent the DVL region boys!!!!! yeah yeah!!!

Had dinner with Rafael on Friday and he talked about his Thursday debacle and that's real cool of Jason for what he did.
It goes to show you to never judge a book by its cover!!
Props to you Hippie.
And big props to all those that found the fish. Dan and I struggled to get bit and it was tough out there.
But can anyone else think of a better way to spend a friday and saturday in October?
I had a blast and it was cool to finally get to fish Havasu in a tourney. We will be there next year and hopefully we will get to do a little prefishing this time.
See all you DVL'rs at Perris next month. I will be the big guy weighing in your fish!!

Re: Hippie da bomb!!!
You know the days when you can't do any thing right well that was my whole weekend! I had great pre fishing shook off some donkeys, had a deeper spot loaded with 3 to 5 pound fish and a grass flat loaded with fish from 1 to 6 pounds. The first tourny day I go to drop the boat in and my cranking batt takes a poo! "not good when you turn the key and your voltage drops to 5 volts" So by the time I found a batt, I was out around ten min after the last flight...I forgot to lock my batt hatch so it flew open on the run and snapped the arm that holds it open... so I get to my spot and no one is there woo hoo! I go on to land 4 dinks and can see the big girls cruiseing I hook a 3 and a half smallie which I loose at the net... "I was fishing alone" no biggie. I then go on to hook 4 really good quality large mouth which all come just close enough to get a good look at them before they just come un buttened... different baits, sharp hooks no ryhm or reason. I finish the day with 5 for a little over 8 pounds.
My second day wasn't much better new batt and motor won't turn over Thank goodness for Mark the mercury guy he is awsome! after some simple tests he broke out the file, filed down my leads and bam! starts like brand new! got out around the third flight. I couldn't get them to go on my grass flat and my deep water spot was dry so I went looking, I could only scrounge up 3 fish 1 large mouth just under 4 pounds and finished the day with a little under 7 pounds
. Any ways all and all I had a good time with friends and family and a weekend to remember...

Thanks to Rich Iannolo as well
Dan and I had some trolling battery troubles and could only get the 12 volts to go and nothing when switch to 24. Dan and I tried everything that our feeble electrical knowledge could muster. We couldn't figure it out.
Met up with Rich at 6am and he walked right up, grabbed a pair of pliers and created a circuit with it (I think thats the right terminology) and whammo, the 24 volts worked.
He spent about 25 minutes making a good fix for us and off we went.
Class Act in my book. He had no regard for getting out on the water in time, he just wanted to help out. He even said at one point, "The worse case with this fix is that you would catch on fire and die." You should have seen the look on Dan and my face. Then Rich AKA Mcgyver went to work and got a safe fix and we were on our way.
Thanks again Rich!!
I think Ron's (I think it was Ron that was talking about that in our meeting) little speech about sportsmanship does not pertain to both Hippie and Rich. They could have both even on their ways and fished, but they both helped out and are studs in my book!!!

Josh...if you are talking about...
Rich Ianollo (sorry if its spelled wrong)..then you are right. Dude knows his stuff. He helped me out with a bad trim relay a couple seasons ago and jumped right in to show me how to fix it. Im a moron with that kind of stuff. And he made it seem easy..
