World Rankings

Post by ddavis »

Will someone please explain how they determine the world rankings on bassfan.com ? Six of the ten. in the top ten shouldn't even be there ! What has Marty Stone done lately, if ever ? What about Skeet ? How is it that the two hottest sticks in the game are #10 & #16 ? What a joke ! Any takes ?

Well firstthe hottest stick is #1.If you go off of performance on both tours you will see.The rankings are based on overall performance for more than 1 year not just the past season.so that is why you see people in other positions. Also Skeet as well as Marty Stone and others have been very consistant performers as you can see with a little research. When you pull up the list again you can click on each persons name and you can see past performance and then you get a better idea of why people are ranked where they are at.

I believe it's based on the past 12 months, so whatever happened 12 months ago drops from the record. If Aaron had a real good tournament a year ago, that will drop off the record possibly causing him to drop in the rankings. It's about what the anglers did in the last calander year.

I hope that makes sense.

Well first Aaron did not do well this year in F.L.W.

It is based on a longer performance than just 1 year. Also Ike had not a very good year in F.L.W.
They also do not count the Elite 50 tournaments because it is not a full field.Go to Bass fan and all the info is there, lookat the top of the page after you pull up the entire rankings and it will tell you how the rankings are done.

I like the rating system. They look at performance week after week over the course of two years.

They don’t base it off of opinions or earnings.

Marty Stone was second this year in BASS. He fished well I thought it was exciting that it came down to the last event he missed the final cut, Aaron went on and made history. Marty Stone fished well last year too.

Skeet has been fishing well both seasons, if I remember he was rated number one.

Hackney has been amazing week after week. He has made many finale cuts over the last two years.

I like Ike and Aaron too, however by their places in tournaments over the last two have not done better then Hackney.

Now if it was based on money, hats off to George Cochran who made a boat load of money and won tournaments both years at 55, respect.

Many great sticks win tournaments, few fish well week and week out or for that matter year after year.

Marty Stone and Skeet Reese are very good and deserve recognition. I wish I fished half as good.

My favorite anglers are Aaron, Ike, and Larry Nixon
