WWN 7th Place

Post by Fast Eddie »

Well its been awhile, as the Ranger has had no electricity for the last 2 weeks, and my Saturday cohort was in Hawaii, playing golf and chasing the opposite sex, haven't had any fiascos. But, Josh my WWN Cohort had been out over a week ago and I had found some fish a few weeks back with a similar tide. So after a long discussion, we make the right move and take the long ride. Needing wind, on my drive over in the Roush, I noticed the flags were straight out so I knew the wind would be there. Upon arrival (this is just my luck) the wind fades to a gentle breeze......then dies. But the fish are still hungry and within a short time we have 10 lbs. I'm throwing my lucky chatterbait and Josh is throwing a new color crankbait on the outside edge. This new color is driving the fish mad. About 2hrs in, the wind picks up and the larger fish start to bite. As soon as the wind reached a gale   the bigger fish became active. Scale said we had a good bag, but we couldn't get the "Big" bite tonight. After being late last week, (we didn't have but 10 lbs so we dumped them) we left in time to easily make it to the weigh in. With our 1458 we anxiously awaited the other boats weighing in. (For those of you who don't fish WWN, there is always a group of boats who wait until the last second to get in line, which dashes the hopes of those on the bubble).
A big THANK YOU to Jerry and Richard for putting on a fun event for a reasonable fee.

For those of you who follow my misadventure and are wondering if my luck has changed, IT HASN'T as I did not win mega millions nor Powerball. Guess I'll stick to fishing. Also the electrical problem where I keep the boat is probably not fully resolved either......but thats another story for another day.
