8 Year Old with Potential Record 98 Pound Amberjack

Japanese angler Manato Mukaezato - age 8 - potentially set the new IGFA Male Smallfry World Record for greater amberjack with this 44.60-kilogram (98-pound, 5-ounce) fish that he caught on April 3, 2019, while fishing off Okinawa, Japan. Mukaezato needed 20 minutes to land the hard-fighting AJ after it hit the live mackerel he was fishing on the bottom. The current IGFA World Record stands at 27.66 kilograms (61 pounds).
