C.O. Pro-Teen Classic XVIII; Jimenez victory, Brydon 8.10 big fish
On a hot, calm muggy day on the California Delta, 71 teens converged upon our Delta bass and they were not disappointed with the bite. The bite was excellent, and although we had to double up some and pack those 71 teens into 55 boats, every one of them teens, and their pros, had a blast fishing the Delta. Alfredo Jimenez claims victory and Jack Brydon earns big bass honors.

NOAA Spotlight: Central California Coho Salmon
Coho salmon are one of the 28 salmonids federally listed by NOAA on the U.S. west coast. They are known for their anadromous life style, in which breeding and hatching of young take place in rivers and as adults will migrate to the North Pacific, returning after 3 years to spawn and die. Once abundant, they supported native, recreational and commercial fishing.

Pro Big Bass of the 2014 Snag Proof Open was brought in by the team of Wilson/Pierson. The single fish weighed 9.53 and was caught on Day 1 by Austin Wilson. He reported catching it with a Bobby's Perfect Frog in Cicada.

There are some changes to the Snag Proof Open format for this year. NEW for the anglers: - The event will be run by Randy Pringle and the BBT staff, who will be donating their time, allowing for a 100% entry fee payback. - Boat order will not be by signups. There will be a lottery draw for boat release order. - All entries received by July 15 will receive a FREE breakfast on Day 1 AND a FREE BBQ at weigh-in of Day 1. In this issue of the WesternBass.com Magazine, you will be able to find several tips to get a jump on your frog fishing as well as other summertime tips, tricks, techniques and other fishing news.
