Alabama's only Rainbow Trout Fishery Research Project
With children out of school and families planning summer vacations, anglers were treated to two stockings of rainbow trout in the Sipsey Fork of the Black Warrior River below Smith Lake dam in June 2017. The fish were stocked at the Alabama Power Company fishing platform on the Walker County side of the river on June 15 and 22.

WDFW releases trout early into King County's Morton Lake OLYMPIA – State fishery managers have stocked King County's Morton Lake with trout months ahead of schedule due to drought conditions. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) recently released the 1,500 rainbow trout, averaging one pound each, into Morton Lake near Kent. Typically, WDFW stocks the lake in October.
