Reward Offered for Return of Sturgeon Tags from California Delta
State and federal fisheries officials are asking for public assistance and offering a $20 reward for the return of each satellite tag from green sturgeon. The satellite tags, which are programmed to release from the fish after a predetermined time, are most likely to be found along the open ocean coastal portions of San Francisco and San Mateo counties, and the shores and waters of San Francisco Bay, San Pablo Bay, Suisun Bay and the Delta.

The nation's top bass anglers will compete for more than $1 million in payouts and berths in the 2016 Bassmaster Classic during the 2015 Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year Championship, Sept. 17-20, on Sturgeon Bay out of Door County, Wis. California Encourages Anglers to Return White Sturgeon "Report Cards"
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is working to keep the state's white sturgeon population from declining precipitously. Much of that work is estimating the number of fish harvested (kept), the harvest rate and population size.
