The 2014 Classic Champ Randy Howell falls into that category and he believes it will be different from the last championship and possibly won with lower weights than the year that Cliff Pace won the event with a three-day catch of 54 pounds, 12 ounces.

Partners Sage Baker, of Shasta Lake and Jon Kenyon of Redding, Calif. bested the field with a seven-fish limit for 28.65, leaving their nearest competitors trailing by 9 lbs.

Driving some of those boats will be multiple previous Classic winners (Kevin Vandam, Skeet Reese, Boyd Duckett, Randy Howell, Casey Ashley and Chris Lane), and a handful of other major-award winners (Aaron Martens, Jacob Powroznik, Greg Hackney, Edwin Evers, Brent Ehrler).

    Competition days will be Friday through Sunday with daily take-offs at 7 a.m. CT from the Hard Rock Dock at the Wolf Creek Ramp launch site in Grove and daily weigh-ins at 3:15 p.m. at the BOK Center in Tulsa. The winning angler will earn $300,000 and a 50-pound trophy that is easily the most coveted in the sport.
