Oakley CA- Oakley’s Big Marina hosted the final event of the year for the first season of the Dan’s Delta Outdoors Black Bass Tournament Series.
“Wow, What a good ole-fashioned shoot out the all the drama of a tight finish you might find on Oroville. Unbelievable! What a blessing to have the support from the anglers, sponsors and community.” said Mathisen.
The TOC got off to a great Day 1 as Phillip Dutra and Mike Andrews led the field into the final day with their strong opening day weight of 21.15 pounds anchored by the Tournaments Big Fish of 8.65 pounds. Day 2 they put together another solid limit of 13.05 pounds.
Harvey Pulliam and Jamond Andrews have proved to be one of the most consistent teams on the “Dirty D” all year and after Day 1 they were certainly in striking distance with 17.04.
On the Delta improving weights and consistency are especially difficult. They managed to do just that putting up 19.69 pounds and 36.73 for the weekend.
We have established that being consistent is key here, and this next pair, well they have done just that with strong finishes throughout the year.
Marc Young and Dave Newton have been consistent all season, earning them Angler of The Year Title for the Dan’s Delta Tournament Series.
Young and Newton put up a solid Day 1 bag of 15.85. When anglers here improve their weight as days progress here they cash checks. Big sack of the day 20.90 and a two day total of 36.75 for the win.
