Rapala®/VMC®/Strikemaster® Sign Robertson To Bolster Multi-Species Pro Staff

Rapala, a legendary company already in possession of the industry’s most accomplished and diverse set of pro-staffers, announces the addition of esteemed walleye guide and media personality Ross Robertson to the team. This adds geographic diversity, enhances the staff’s multi-species excellence, and will provide additional brain power for future product development.

Robertson will partner with the company for Rapala® hard baits, VMC® hooks and jigs, as well as Strikemaster® Augers. “This is an iconic brand and it’s an honor to be with them,” Robertson said. “After making a living in the fishing industry for over 20 years, and using many of the classic Rapala products effectively, it’s a thrill to be on the same team with legends like Al Lindner.”

About Ross Robertson
Over the course of two-plus decades in the fishing industry, veteran walleye guide Ross Robertson has touched every corner of the business, from selling boats to writing a best-selling book, to hosting the renowned Bigwater Podcast. While he’s best known for his expertise at catching and leading others to Lake Erie’s trophy walleyes, he thrives on a busy schedule and is discerning about the products that he uses.

“I’ve used many of the Rapala old-school products successfully for a long time,” he explained. “Now I’m thrilled to help the company spread the word in the Great Lakes market, and possibly help them develop new sizes, colors and products specifically for the Great Lakes anglers,”

His media reach is exceptional, not only through his Bigwater Podcast, which features interviews with many of the heaviest hitters in the outdoor world but also through his appearances on television and in publications including In-Fisherman, Outdoor Life, Field & Stream and The MeatEater. Less known is the fact that he’s also an ardent multispecies angler, and uses many of the Rapala and VMC products in his quest to catch monster smallmouths and yellow perch.

“Ross has established himself as an authority regarding everything walleye and carved out an incredible business around arguably the best walleye fishery in the world, Lake Erie,” Quinn said. “Aside from guiding people to the walleye of their dreams, Ross is constantly creating content to help people become better anglers. Working with Ross is going to be a blast, not only is he an ace on the water but he’s a heck of a fun guy and has a ton of knowledge to help Rapala continue to make fish-catching baits wherever fish are swimming!”
