Simms Wins Big at ICAST/IFTD New Product Showcases

Multiple Awards Validate Promising New Product Line

BOZEMAN, Mont.– Once again, Simms Fishing Products returns home from Orlando, Florida decorated with multiple New Product Showcase Awards, adding to its industry-leading tally.

At the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (more commonly known as ICAST) and the International Fly Tackle Dealer Show (IFTD), Simms claimed top honors in 5 categories for best new product.

"Our product team is incredible. They have all gone above and beyond to make sure these new product lines are the strongest Simms has ever launched," says Fred Dennis, Simms' Sr. Director of Apparel Design & Development. "It's so rewarding to bring home so many awards especially knowing how much time and effort our team has put in."

In the ICAST New Product Showcase, Simms won Best Fly Fishing Accessory with the totally re-designed and re-engineered G3 Guide™ Stockingfoot Wader. By utilizing an all-new 4-layer GORE-TEX® in the legs and seat of the wader, this is the most breathable wader Simms has ever built. Enhanced breathability didn't come at the cost of durability or functionality, as the new G3 Guide™ is not only tougher than ever before, but also has a more tailored fit than previous models.

The new G3 Guide™ Stockingfoot was so well received; it also took top honors in the Best Men's Wader category at the IFTD New Product Showcase as well.

In IFTD's Best Outerwear category, Simms was called to the podium once again to claim an award for the all-new G3 Guide™ Tactical Jacket, a weatherproof jacket powered by 3-layer GORE-TEX® fabric and boasting nine storage pockets. This jacket was designed to retain a sleek and streamlined front without sacrificing internal storage.

In the Best General Apparel category, Simms took first place with the all-new SolarFlex® Armor Shirt, one of the most technically advanced shirts available. The SolarFlex® Armor Shirt is anti-odor, moisture wicking, UPF50 rated and also features Coolcore® cooling technology which helps reduce its temperature up to 30% when wet. The shirt also comes equipped with a patent pending integrated hood and sungaiter system.

Simms was also recognized for winning the Best Women's Apparel category with the Women's Bicomp LS Shirt. The Women's Bicomp utilizes polyester and stretch knit in the sides and sleeve panels for added comfort and mobility. This shirt is also anti-odor, moisture wicking and UPF30 rated.

"I feel like the products we brought with us to debut here at ICAST and IFTD are some of the most innovative and technically sound pieces of fishing gear the industry has ever seen, "says Simms President, K.C. Walsh. "Winning 5 New Product Showcase awards is a direct reflection of the dedication, determination and passion shared by the entire Simms team of whom I'm incredibly proud."

The awarded products are all part of the Spring 2018 line, which will be available in specialty retailers and at simmsfishing.com in November of this year.
