The Rapala family of brands includes some of the biggest names in fishing. They are busy every year, and this year is no different.
Here is what is new with the brands after ICAST 2020 Online.
Rapala is one most iconic fishing lure brands in existence and well-known for its hard baits.
This year, they added a new balsa bait called the OG 6 Slim. This bait was an idea from Rapala pro Ott DeFoe, who has long fished handmade balsa baits. This flat-sided bait has a circuit board lip and a great action with a medium wobble.
It will dive down to six-feet, weighs a ½-ounce, and measures in at two ¾-inches long.
Retail cost for the OG 6 Slim is $10.99 and it will initially be offered in 14 different colors.
New DT Series and X-Rap Prop Crankbait Colors
The Rapala DT Series is a staple among bass anglers and they just added five new colors: Big Shad, Chartreuse Rootbeer Craw, Citrus Shad, Green Gizzard Shad and Rootbeer Craw.
Big Shad helped DeFoe win a Bass Pro Tour event already this season and will be available for everyone soon.
For the Rapala X-Rap Prop, they added two new colors to this topwater bait. The new colors are Florida Gold and Black Chrome Orange.
This is a unique new lure from Rapala that was designed to be versatile. It is as a cross between a blade bait and a lipless crankbait. It can be cast, jigged, or yo-yo’d. It weighs a 1/2 –ounce measures 2 1/2 inches long and will retail for $9.99.
Fans of the brand love to show off their Rapala pride and the newest way to do it is a new hoodie. The Rapala Performance Hoodie with Neck Gaiter keeps you comfortable on the water and has a built-in neck gaiter. It also includes UPF 50+ UV sun protection. It comes in sizes from XS - 3XL and will retail for $40.99.
New from Terminator is a new swim jig and spinnerbait.
The Terminator Pro Series Spinnerbait was designed with the help of Ott DeFoe. It features a 17-7 stainless steel wire for high vibration while staying durable at the same time. It comes in 31 different combinations between the two weight sizes (3/8 and ½-ounce) and different color and blade combinations. The skirts are hand-tied and the hook shank features a solid trailer keeper. Retail is $8.99.
Also new from Terminator is the HD Swim Jig that is made to come through cover easily. It has a premium skirt and 5/O wide gap VMC hook. It will be available in 12 colors and both a 3/8 and ½-ounce size. The retail cost is $3.99.
Sufix has unveiled two new braided lines; ProMix and 131.
ProMix is made with a unique color process to keep the color for twice as long. It has a dense weave pattern to keep it thin and smooth. It is available in sizes from six to 80-pound test and in 150, 300, 1,200, and 3,500-yard spools.
131 is an ultra-premium braid with 13 strands (12 HMPE and 1 GORE) to keep it extra round and with excellent knot strength. It comes in 150-yard spools from six to 80-pound test. The retail price per spool is $39.99.

The Arashi Vibe hs some new colors, including Classic Craw, that helped DeFoe win the Bassmaster Classic. At that event, he painted his own, but they have made it available for everyone now. Joining that color is Fluorescent Red Craw.
The Largo Shad swimbait is now available in bass-specific colors. Pro angler Jacob Wheeler popularized this saltwater swimbait with some big tournament wins and now there are six brand new colors in a three and four-inch size.
One of the leaders in hooks and terminal tackle has some new items for 2020.
Three types of trebles have new sizes. The Bladed Treble, Hybrid Treble and Hybrid Short Shank are now available in #3 and #5. The popular Tokyo Rig will soon be available in a finesse version with #2, #1, 1/O, and 2/O hooks.
VMC also introduced the new Hybrid Swimbait Jig in several hook sizes and weights. The hook design is said to increase hook-ups and it features a bigger spring to keep your baits secure.
On the weight side of things, the VMC Tungsten Rugby weight is being released. It will work on a Tokyo-Rig, Texas-rig, or a Carolina-Rig. Sizes go from ¼-ounce to a full ounce in both black or green pumpkin.
Crossover Pliers and Rings
Designed just for wacky-rigging and Neko-Rigs, the Crossover Rigs have a dual-channel hook, so hooks can be inserted both ways to remain in the correct position. The added Crossover Pliers make it easy to add the rings, which can also be stored inside the handle.
From the famous Rapala brand to Storm, Terminator, VMC, and Sufix, they cover just about everything you will need to catch fish.
