What’s New with Power-Pole
Power-Pole changed the fishing world forever with the introduction of their shallow water anchors, and they continue to innovate with new products.
They have evolved from just merely shallow water anchoring and now offer solutions for total boat control.
This year they added a control system to get all of their products working together as one, a new way to anchor small boats and kayaks and they also introduced a product designed to be better on the environment.
Here is what is new with Power-Pole…
C-Monster Control System
The C-Monster controls now feature a new gateway with NMEA2000. This wireless protocol is unique to Power-Pole and was built specifically for the marine industry.
Basically, it allows you to control your Power-Poles and accessories all from one place wirelessly. Adjusting your accessories can be done on your phone via the C-Monster app, by using the key fob or just touching the button on your dash.
“NMEA2000 is the current communication standard within the boating industry. CM2 to NMEA2000 allows the C-Monster network to participate with the NMEA2000 network and vice-versa,” said Robert Shamblin, vice president of JL Marine Systems. Inc. “The gateway allows for the immediate adoption of the wireless CM2 protocol and control via NMEA2000 until manufacturers adopt the CM2 technology set within their products.”
Power-Pole and the Green Marine Initiative
Power-Pole and other companies in the fishing industry are doing their part to protect our resources.
Power-Pole’s shallow water anchors are already less intrusive than a standard anchor that can drag along the bottom and do harm, but they have also committed to a new type of hydraulic fluid that is better for the environment.
The Green Marine ISO-32 is a 100% biodegradable hydraulic fluid that can be used for Power-Pole anchors as well as jack plates, trim tabs, outboard trim and anything else on your boat that uses hydraulic fluid. This fluid is made from an American-grown renewable resource, and even if accidentally spilled into the water, it is biodegradable.
Within 28-days it reaches complete biodegradation. Even the bottles are made from manufactured from recycled plastic.
Power-Pole Spikes & Micro Spike Driver Unit
Kayak fishing continues to gain popularity in the bass world, and Power-Pole has a new product that should interest all kayakers and paddle boarders.
A standard anchor often takes up too much space and adds too much weight, so they have developed spikes designed to keep you in place and not worry about excess weight on your small vessel.
The Power-Pole The Ultra-lite and Heavy-duty Spikes and Micro-Driver unit can be deployed quickly and silently.
The Ultra-lite Spike is ¾” in diameter and made of a sturdy composite material and is available in six and eight feet lengths. It is capable of holding canoes, kayaks, paddleboards and small boats that weigh up to 1500-pounds. The bigger version, the Heavy-duty Spike, can hold bigger boats like bass boats, aluminum boats, flats boats and bay boats. It comes as an 8.5-foot spike that is made up of a solid composite material.
Both of these spikes can be used solo or with the all-electric Micro Driver Unit used for the Power-Pole Micro. The unit can mount on the back of a kayak or paddle boat without getting in the way due to its small size. It applies just the right amount of pressure needed to make sure your spike stays secure. Just like the bigger shallow water anchors, the Micro Drive Unit and a Power-Pole Micro can be deployed with the touch of a button on the key fob remote.
CHARGE and VISION
The Charge and Vision products came out last year, and they are still new to the industry and gaining interest.
CHARGE is a bi-directional power management station for your marine batteries. It works like a standard battery charger but shares power between all of your batteries for and makes sure they are all balanced and charged.
VISION is a 7” tablet that runs on the Android platform. It was designed specifically for your boat and can manage all of the accessories and gauges you need to see. Besides that, it can also connect to any app that is available for Android and can take photos and more right from the boat.
Power-Pole has grown from just providing shallow-water anchors. They continue to be the leader in that category but are still adding new accessories to make everything on your boat connected and working together in unison.
