Ron Howe and Dan Wells explained day one of the 2011 Snag Proof Open as they ran away with the lead, holding a 17-bag of bass. "If I had one piece of advice, I would say protected areas, away from the wind were the best for us; also, all but one of ours came from mats, we didn't really focus on open water areas."

As the team returned on day two with less than 5-lbs, many thought they would slip in the standings; but just as they wrestled with the tide turn, others had too.

The two day total of 21.99 for Howe and Wells was enough to be crowned the frog kings of the 2011 Snag Proof Open. Sparrow and Cicada Bobby's Perfects were their most productive frogs. In addition to the frog trophies, the team pocketed $6,200 for their weekend on the water.

The original, frog only tournament - the 2015 Snag Proof Open will take place on August 1 and 2 at Russo's Marina.

Pre registrations prior to July 15 will get FREE breakfast Day 1 and FREE BBQ on Day 2 (during weigh-in).
