Few fishing brands are as well-known and fished as Berkley. They have something for everyone no matter what species you are targeting, and they continue to innovate in the area of soft plastics, hooks, hardbaits, and more.
Here is a rundown of what is coming up next.
New Hard Baits | Spy
Pro angler Josh Bertrand was the one behind the new spinbait, called Spy.
It is more than just a copy of what is already on the market. It features two versions, a fast sink and slow sink. The slow sink is designed to be fished in less than five feet of water, which other baits on the market cannot do effectively.
New Hard Baits | Frittside
This year Berkley added two new hardbaits, a spybait, and flat-sided crankbait.
The Frittside was designed by crankbait guru David Fritts and has the same great action of popular balsa flat-sided baits, but it is plastic. The plastic body helps with durability and casting distance.
The Frittside was one of the most popular baits from the Bassmaster Classic. It will be available this Fall!
New Hard Bait | Sizes
The Berkley line of hardbaits continues to expand with new designs and also some new sizes for their popular baits.
The Choppo topwater now has a nice “in-between” size at 105mm to fit between the existing 90mm and 120mm sizes.
The Bad Shad crankbait is now available in a bigger size. The lineup already included a 2” and 2.5” version, and now they have a new 3” size of this popular cold-water crankbait.
More Soft Plastic Colors and Sizes
The PowerBait Power Swimmer now comes in two smaller versions. The 2.8” and 3.3” sizes are new and should be a hit for bass anglers fishing around bass eating small baitfish.
The Crazy Legs Chigger Craw is now available in a downsized 3” version, and they added some new colors to all of these baits.
More Berkley Gulp
This formula of plastics is well-known for its ability to attract bass and make them hold on to the bait. This year, they are bringing some new styles.
The Bulky Hawg similar to their Power Hawg; only this 3” version is bulkier as the name implies. It’s a small bait with a fatter profile.
The Gulp Grub is a new single tail grub with a long and wavy tail section. It will be available in five and six-inch versions and should excel for bass and a variety of other species.
On the saltwater side, they added a 2” Sandworm, 4” Fat Hollow Sandworm, and the Gulp Alive Crabby.
Swing Heads, Weighted Wacky, Underspins and More
New for this year they added new EWG trebles, football and swing head, shakey heads, weighted wacky jigheads, swimbait jigheads, tube heads and underspins.
See each of these up-close here.
New PowerBait Styles
Few soft plastics in the world of bass fishing are as well-known as PowerBait. This proven formula has been catching bass for years, and now they added a few new styles.
Here are 5 new ones designed by Iaconelli and Skeet.
Jordan Lee Signature Series
This year, Berkley released a Jordan Lee signature series of products. Included were three new PowerBait soft plastics with lifelike finishes. Also, they added a Flame Green color to their X5 and X9 braided line under JLee’s signature series.
Each year at ICAST, Berkley has tons to offer, and this year is no different. They added some new designs and complemented their existing lineup with more sizes and colors.
